A few years back, needing a mic preamp urgently and not having the time at the time to do the decent thing and build it, I went down to the local music supply place and bought a Behringer. In the "good old days", the manual included a schematic (or at least a maintenance manual was available), and you could readily fix anything that went wrong. I guess one of the things that makes me nervous about buying modern test equipment is repairability. When an Australian says How did you find something, he means, "was it any good"! I remember when the Beatles visited Australia in 1964, a reporter asked them, And how did you find Australia? They all looked a bit puzzled, and then Ringo said brightly, It was easy, we just turned right at Hawaii!
